Aylezo clutches the class victory at Korea!

It was a great change of pace that the team was waiting all these while. After two unfavourable rounds in Japan, team Aylezo Motorsports had finally found the rhythm they were looking for as they scored a double podium at Korea with one of them being a class victory.

The Round 4 of the 2019 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia series took the team to the Korea International Circuit located in Yeongam, South Korea. Making its Super Trofeo debut, the 5.62km circuit is located about 400km from Seoul and once hosted the F1 Grand Prix from 2010 to 2013.

With a searing track temperature of 50+ degrees Celcius and humidity similar to Malaysia, it was not unfamiliar grounds for for Zen Low but the conditions were challenging nevertheless. For this race, Zen shared the seat with Doyun Hwang and they did not wasted any time to get acquainted with the track in the 5.2-liter Huracan Super Trofeo EVO.

The Official Practice sessions showed how the duo got straight into business as they blitzed through the Korean tarmac, topping the class during the first session and securing P2 on the second. They also carried the strong momentum into the Qualifying sessions where they qualified in P1 for Race 1 and securing P3 for Race 2.

Going into Race 1 with high spirits, the excellent drive shown by both drivers gave the team the podium they all had been waiting for as car #69 crossed the chequered flag in P2 in class. But the highlight of the weekend was just about to start as Race 2 was filled with bumper-to-bumper actions throughout the race.

As soon as the lights turned green, Zen was already eyeing to improve the position and it did not take long before he started to climb up the ranks. Paired with a smooth pit stop and a superb drive from Hwang, this was one of the most satisfying drives so far as they clinched the top spot in the class for Race 2. With such an encouraging finish, the team is now in high spirits and are already looking forward for the next round which will be in Shanghai on 6-8 September 2019.

Team Aylezo Motorsports would like to extend their greatest appreciation to everyone who had helped in making this journey possible, especially JQK22, J.Cricket, Carlist.my, CarZmo, and Chiropractic LLP.
