It was a disappointing race result for Aylezo Ecotint Racing at round three of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, held at the Buriram circuit in Thailand. But this was overshadowed by the warm reception of a large group of Aylezo Ecotint Racing fans who made it to the track.
The team worked extremely hard over the weekend replacing the gearbox and other components that made the car stronger in practice and qualifying. But unfortunately due to a power steering failure in Race 2, Max Wiser and Zen Low were unable to finish on the podium.
Race 1 saw a strong performance from the two drivers as they climbed through the field from starting in 8th on the grid to finish 4th, only five seconds shy of catching third place.
Race 2 got off to a good start, but after five laps the Aylezo Ecotint Racing Lamborghini Huracán LP620-2 Super Trofeo lost the lead due to a major oversteer. With Zen taking over in second position at the driver change, the power steering failed at the pit exit. This meant Zen had to reset the system which cost him 14 seconds and had to settle for fourth place.
Despite the disappointing race result the team still scored valuable points and are still in contention for the championship.
Team morale was high with a large group of Aylezo Ecotint Racing fans visiting the pits. “I’m thrilled to meet our fans and take lots of photos with them,” said Zen Low. They were just incredible and their support was just overwhelming. For that I am blessed, super happy and truly enjoyed the weekend. Thumbs up to the team too, as always they worked super hard and unconditionally.”
