It was a hometown race for the Aylezo Ecotint Racing team as they arrived at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia for round four of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia.
A special ambiance filled the paddock this weekend as over 200 Aylezo Ecotint Racing supporters, friends and family filled the garage and team room, giving Zen Low and Max Wiser extra encouragement that the drivers wouldn’t normally experience at other races.
“There was a moment when I heard my name being called out and cheered by everyone during the driver’s pit stop,” said lead driver Zen Low. “They certainly gave me an extra boost. It was then I realised I must not let my supporters down. I’m so glad to have met so many friends and supporters, and I cant thank everyone enough.”
Zen and Max didn’t let the fans down finishing second in class for both races. But it wasn’t easy for the hometown team as they struggled yet again with a power steering failure and overheating issue.
Track temperature was boiling hot as the drivers had to contend with a stifling 60 degrees in the cockpit as Zen explained: “This was by far the most difficult race in terms of the boiling hot temperatures we had to endure in the cockpit. We didn’t have the best car, and we were struggling with the set-up. But as usual the team put in a superb effort and Max and I soldiered on and pushed hard for two second place finishes.”
With this strong performance at Sepang, the Aylezo Ecotint Racing team are in contention for the championship as they head to the penultimate round in Fuji on September 16th.
