As the 2016/17 Asian Le Mans Series quickly approaches, the Aylezo Ecotint Racing team took delivery of their new Ginetta LMP3 race car with high hopes of championship success.
Before the car can successfully compete on the race track it must go through a shakedown process to make sure that the engine and technical features work.
The team is currently participating in the open practice session at the Sepang International Circuit on Thursday, and then will compete in this one round of the Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup from Friday to Sunday with the main objective of collecting data and further testing the car under race conditions.
Team founder and driver Zen Low is looking forward to the shakedown of his new race machine: “It has been a long anxious wait for our new Ginetta LMP3 car to arrive in Malaysia. It is important for us to get as much track time as we can between now and when the car has to be shipped to China for the first round of the ALMS. Therefore we are participating in this weekends round of the Asian Le Mans Sprint Series only to collect data and test the car under racing conditions.”
It is important to note that the Aylezo Ecotint team has not entered the Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup, and does not intend to fight for podium position. This weekend is purely for testing purposes to get the car ready for the Asian Le Mans Series.
The first round of the Asian Le Mans Series kicks of in Zhuhai China on October 28th-30th. To stay up to date with all of Aylezo’s developments, please sign up to our newsletter on the right of this page.
